In May 339 Hiram Shane and Susan L Swanbury wed and produced ten children led by Lula Shane the oldest and Bess Shape the youngest survivor. One hundred relatives from many cousins gathered at Inlet State Park for a July 16 reunion with leaders elected, planning to repeat next year.

W H Slattery died Friday in Woodlawn hospital Chicago after retirement. Rites were conducted Monday at Sacred Heart church Peoria with burial in St Mary’s cemetery. He lived with his son Francis Slattery in Chicago and had spent many years in Peoria with the Slattery and Welsh Plumbing Co.
Officers elected to direct Old Settlers for the year include President J. Donald Best and Vice President Rue Savage. Committees appointed by Best cover Program Ground Amusement France Advertising Diary Seats and Stones Band Decorating and Roping Streets with listed members.
