FFA July gathering ends with contest awards at school

The FFA meeting at the high school featured a softball game from 7 30 to dark and a session in the ag building. Awards went to grain team for a three ribbon and the dairy team earned a red ribbon. Members signed up to show at the FFA show and ice cream was served. Reporter Jim Muatoa

School News Band Rehearsals for Picnic

A callout to former and present senior members to attend rehearsals at 8pm in the high school gym on July 1 and July 24. Prompt attendance is requested to prepare a 90 minute variety show for the celebration night.

Physical Examinations for entering 4H students

Superintendent informs Donald boys and girls entering lat grade the fifth grade and ninth grade must have a physician exam before August 30. It is a state law requiring compliance, with doctors busy near vacation time. Health cards are available at Brimfield High School office. physicians must record exam results on the card, free of charge from the County health office.

Laura Items Mra Ruth Moore and Marianne were Kewanee visitors Saturday evening. The Masuel family moved to Ewewood last week. Purcell family from Mason City and others spent the past week at Bas02 Purcell home. The Jones reunion occurred at Harry Jones home near Abingdon Sunday. Joe Sullivan returned to Hartford City after visiting Charlier Thomas. Theofo Mes Miller returned from mandelers after visiting Donald Miller and Sandra. Lorene Kuntz Read returned to Los Angeles after visiting Cael Fauth and family and Dan Kunote in New Boston. Mr and Mrs Easley stayed in Minneapolis. Vern Carlson and daughter Shirley accompanied them home for a visit.

French Grove Edward Auteo Jr visited relatives Tuesday afternoon. On July 4 ten relatives were entertained at supper by Mr and Mrs A Kellogg and Gertrude. Clif ford Bateman visiting his uncle and Mr and Mrs Leo McKowan at Chillicothe accompanied them to St Louis for the week. Mr and Mrs Harold Cook of Wheaton are expected Friday for a vacation week with her parents, Mr and Mrs Gupert Oakes and David. Mr and Mrs John Shaffer, Bleang, Reed and Bord were Fourth of July guests to Manford Harding home at Oak Hill Toedate also marke the Shaffer wedding anniversary.

Mrs Valentine Rogers Rites Held After Dunlap Births and Visits

Mrs Valentine Rogers Mra Matulda Roger died Wednesday morning July 3 at St Francia hospital. Born October 18 1576 in Dunlap she was daughter of John and Theresa Backes. Rural Youth Plans Chicago Trip for Peoria County Members

Rural Youth plans a weekend bus trip to Chicago Saturday and Sunday August 17 18. They will visit Riverview Amusement Park attend a Cubs Reds game and return after the Sunday affair. Death of Morris Stansbury of Berkeley California

Word reached here of the death of Morris Stansbury in a Veterans Hospital on January 4. He had been in poor health for several years. Born January 16, 1891, he was the son of Ed and Winnie A. Stansbury and never married. He resided with his mother and sister Mig Florence. the Stansbury family had lived here for years.

Beverly Stables maid of honor wore a thin green ovion dotted swiss dress and carried white daisies. Debra Jane Parmer of Alpepa Michnetee was bridesmaid with identical dress. The bridegroom’s sister was flower girl in green nylon with white hat and gloves. Jack Powers was best man with Wm Woodrow and Jack Sloan as ushers. The bride wore white Chantilly lace over taffeta with pearl shoulder length veil and carried a white bouquet on a white Bible. Organ music by Milerea Pacey. Reception on the Wasson yard. Couple to Ozarks for a wedding trip and will reside at 1103 N Douglas Peora after return. Both graduates of Brimfield High School.
