Miss Birdie A. Marshall retired teacher and former resident of 207 College St died at 1 30 pm Wednesday at the Gweeney convalescent Home where she had been a patient since Sept 27 after a broken hip. Born in Jubilee township Peoria county she was the oldest of eight children of Albert and Abby Willard Marshall. She taught in country schools later in Peoria at Sumner School and led the open window room at Giles Oak School until retirement. Surviving are three sisters Miss Cora Marshall Mrs Lewin BH. me Garrah and Mize Earl Cowperth waite, one brother Harry Marshall and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday at 10 am at the Cumerford-Bodsley Memorial Home with Rev I ww Jones at First Hospital Church. Burial in Brimfield cemetery.

Mrs Charles Fryer arrived home Tuesday from a 2123 mile trip to her car. Accompanied by friends they traveled via Bailecourt North Dakota to Turtle Mountain Indian Agency and visited Mrs John Allery May and Judy Martin. They continued into Canada visiting Mr and Mrs Lener Delong and others, with car trouble near North Dakota but the journey was enjoyed. Mrs Delong gave embroidered pillowcovers and Mrs Worick decorative deer carving, while Mr Leong received a small photograph of Queen Elizabeth.
Mr and Mrs Bill Archibald, D.cn and Mary Neil and his mother Mrs George Acasdibaialo, are vacationing at Fort Leavenworth Kansas with relatives.
