Theresa Frasner, 15, daughter of Mr and Mrs Billy Frasner, suffered severe burns when she added kerosene to a stove Sunday evening. The accident occurred as a younger sister summoned help and a nearby child helped Her flames were extinguished with water. She was rushed to St Francea hospital for treatment and remains in great pain with hopes for recovery.
Prairie Farmer reports Albert Hayes as president announces the annual Peoria County Farm Bureau meeting to be held Saturday January 16 at 10 am at the Pete Marquette hotel in Peoria. Gregory is listed as principal speaker.
In French Grove, families gathered for New Year events at homes and churches. Mr and Mrs Forest Oakes and Mr and Mrs Harry Reed attended Elmwood Presbyterian church dinner. Barbara Smith and others enjoyed New Year dinners with the Tucker, Kellogg, and Carter households. The J K Welch and McClellan households hosted guests and the Improvement and Missionary Society held its annual party with a pot rack supper and a white elephant gift exchange.

Mr. and Mrs James Cole and children of Abingdon were Sunday dinner guests at the Fred C. Jones home. Mr. and Mrs Fred Belford of Monica called on her mother Mrs. Bethia De Bord at the home of James Porter New Years day. Among those who have the flu are Mrs Corliss Laisure and children, Don Webster and daughter Wintress and Terry Dean. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Barrett and children spent Sunday at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klepper near Starit.
Brimfield High School captured the holiday tournament trophy after three wins at Toulon. They beat Toulon 25-14 in game one and Bradford 24-12 in game two, then defeated Wyoming 23-17 in the final. Day led scoring with 10 points, Babcock 9, Luthy 6, Hayes 5, Savage 2, and Floyd 1. Consolation went to Toulon over Princeville 33-30 in a tight finish.
Mrs Nellie B Bristol died suddenly at her Wyoming home after a period under a doctor's care. Funeral services were led by Rev J N Fitzgerald at St Dominics church Wyoming with burial in Calvary cemetery Brimfield. She was born November 29 1852 in Ohio, married John D Prentice and later David E Bristol, leaving three daughters Luella Colgan Winifred Prentice of Wyoming and Florence Bristol Cluskey of Brimfield. Her death occurred shortly before noon on Thursday. she was found in bed by her daughter Winifred.
A double wedding was held New Years Eve at Rev Walter Briggs home in Peoria uniting Della Bragg with James Allen and Allienne Randell with Edwin Bragg The Braggs are lifelong Peoria residents and Brim field High School graduates Both couples were attended by Peoria friends and hosted at Mrs G W Coakleys Peoria home after the ceremony

A New Year dinner at the home of Mr and Mrs John Schellopf was enjoyed by Mr and Mrs Thomas Ogonor and their daughters Mary and Joan O’Connor, along with Mr and Mrs Thomas Megan and Elsie, in Princesatities.
A neighborhood gathering on Sunday January 3 celebrated Mr and Mrs Charles C Marks completing 25 years of marriage with cards, sandwiches, cake and coffee. Guests included C J Morrissey Willard Blundy Peter Lettman Ryne Lettman and many others as a silver purse was presented by Joseph Carroll.
