Residents must adjust to afternoon mail as letters after 1 50 p m wait until 10 40 a m next day. Incoming mail will arrive about 11 50 a m and 2 35 p m if trains run on time.
A December 29 surprise party honored Mr. Hasselbacher on his 81st birthday while a family gathering also celebrated Mrs. Hasselbacher’s 61st wedding anniversary. Relatives from Peoria and nearby areas joined in with cake, ice cream, and well wishes for the couple.
Elizabeth Fuchs, daughter of Mr and Mrs Thaddeus Fuchs of 214 Cedar Street, married Raymond Heiman son of Mr and Mrs Andre Nicholas Heiman of Mokena on Tuesday morning December 27 at 9 oclock in St Mark's Church. Dr Father Richard Grimm of Notre Dame conducted the nuptial mass and Msgr J 3 Burke read the ceremony. Attendants were Miss Helen Colgan and George Rinke. A breakfast followed at the bride’s parents home and the couple left for a wedding trip until after January 15. They will reside with the Fuchs family in Peoria Star.
Edith Elizabeth Hayes daughter of Mr and Mrs Garry H Hayes of La Grange married David Samuel Brown on Friday December 30 1935 in La Grange. The brief item notes the union and location with no further details.

Mrs Clara Turner of Peoria Heights died Sunday at Methodist hospital moromeg. She was buried in Srimfield cemetery Tuesday after funeral services at Peoria Height Congregational church. She was a sister of the late Mrs Albert Fisher.
Mr and Mrs Clifford Johnson and daughter of Peoria and Mr and Mrs Elmer Brown of St Louis were dinner guests Monday of Mr and Mrs Henry Kellstadt.
