Raymond Morrissey hosted farewell for brother James Morrissey and Bradford family relocating to Fowa.
Brimfield Township voters of all parties petitioned to create an independent candidate for Road Commissioner for a four year term in the election on April 1 1947. Voter totals show Democrat 154 Republican 143 Independent 150. Wm N McGowan pledges service and asks for support on the independent ticket.
Chief Commissary Steward C R Arnold and Mr Arnold left Monday morning for Philadelphia Naval Base where Rudy will report in March for four more years in the U S Navy This marks Rudy s third enlistment in the Navy During World War II he spent 18 months in the South Pacific and also served in Alaska the Aleutians and the Philippines He has served aboard the USS Helena US8 USS Rio Grande USS T L 196 and USS LST 29 across eight years

The remains of Leo F Crahan are being brought for burial in Galva cemetery. Funeral services are at St Joseph's church at ten this morning. Crahan died February 21 1947 at Cameron Hospital in Stockton California after living there thirty two years. Born April 6 1889 in Brimfield he was the son of Thomas and Mary Winne Crahan, who preceded him in death. He was a World War I veteran and never married. His sisters Anne and Mary and aunt Mrs Edward Bichford reside in Peoria.
Henry Hurder Henry Murder died at his son Jos W Hurder's home on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday afternoon at the Johnson Fasser Home conducted by Rev C Aarold Rasiwussen. He was 93 years old.
Mr and Mrs Eugene Garrison welcome a baby girl born February 26 at Burnham hospital in Champaign. The infant weighs 9 pounds and has been named Ann. Mrs Garrison 18, the former Ruby Bruninga, is the baby’s mother, daughter of Mr and Mrs R H Bruninga.
