Brimfield Dominates Farm Bureau Bowling Contest
Brimfield sent several bowlers to the district bowling tournament of the Illinois Farm Bureau Sports Festival in Galesburg Belt 20. Open Cross division winners were Bernice Bluidy and Francis Busnea of Princeville in doubles. Second place ribbons went to a women’s team: Parlythe Porter JoAnn Nanman Sally Lilies Carol Gensler and Jackie Martin. They will represent Grundy County in the State Finals at Decatur on December 31.

Miss Mary Memier, a Bast Peoria Community High School teacher, was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the 16th District Federation of Woman's Clubs. She will attend the spring conference in Chillicothe on April 16 as guest of honor, after nomination supported by East Peoria Woman's Club and community organizations. Memier, born in Brimfield, earned a BA and MA in history from the University of Colorado, and has taught social studies at East Peoria High School for 25 years, receiving earlier recognition in 1957.

Spring Concert Draws Notable Local Crowd
The Minwater Concert on Sunday at 3 pm drew a good crowd and the performance was enjoyed. Groups included The Golden Tones and Bumfield Choraliera with colorful attire, plus the grade school choir led by Mr Jensen. Proceeds aim to buy robes for the fifty five choristers, with donations welcomed for the chorus fund.
