Wallace Phillips Faces Devastating Farm Fire
Wallace Phillips, who recently moved from the Richard Whitakr farm to a Route Aston Knoxvale property, suffered heavy losses in a major fire last week. A motorist woke the family near 2:30 am as flames engulfed a large asphalt-shingled barn, destroying cattle, hogs, 1500 bushels of corn, 1300 bales of hay, and farm equipment. The fire damaged only the barn contents while other buildings were protected. The farm is owned by De Joan McCuskey of Peoria.
