Grade School Tuneful Operetta This Friday Night

Schedule of Elmwood regional basketball tournament games

Elmwood superintendent E. E. Downing announces the regional tournament to run March 2 through 6 featuring Brimfield against Wyoming at 8 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a full slate of games including Peoria Manual versus Yates City, Princeville versus Peoria Kingman, Dunlap versus Elmwood, Toulon versus Winner, and successive winners until the final Saturday session for third and championship. Crane and Mae Winebright wed at home union

Friday afternoon February 19 in the bride’s home the ceremony united Richard Crane of Roseville and Mae Winebright of Kirkwood. The 4 PM service was in the presence of about fifty relatives and friends. The couple will reside on the Crane farm near Roseville.

Funeral Friday for Mrs Henrietta Wood

Mrs Henrietta Wood dies at home in Elmwood after several weeks illness. Daughter Rosewood and nurse Bertha Shane cared for her. Funeral services set for Friday February 26 at 2:00 PM at Patterson Funeral Home Elmwood conducted by Rev Van Horn of Elmwood Methodist Church.

County Legion Meeting Draws Large Peoria Area Turnout

About a hundred Legionnaires from Peoria and nearby towns gathered at the Community Building for the county meeting. The annual Americanism event featured German World War veterans who are naturalized citizens as guests of honor. Speakers Gebhart and Schmeizer contrasted training and social customs between the two nations. The Brimfield post staged music and dance, followed by a brief program and a social reception with ice cream cake and coffee.
