Fire Destroys Farm House on Jobo Kehi Place

A large farm house three miles east of town, owned by Albert Fussner and occupied by Billy Woodrow, was totally destroyed by fire Monday morning. The upper story burned swiftly after discovery. downstairs items were saved, but basement contents were destroyed. Firefighters from Brimfield and neighbors fought the blaze in zero- degree wind, with limited success. Woodrow had partial insurance. Fussner had none. Woodrow thanks friends, neighbors, and the fire department for their help.

Jubilee Taxes Notice at Princeville and Brimfield

Leland F. Pacey, Col. announces Jubilee township tax collection at Schaad's hardware store in Princeville on Friday February 22, Wednesday February 27, and Friday March 1. Taxes will also be received at the News office in Brimfield on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Notes From The Churches Rev G E Spencer to Speak

Rev G E Spencer of Union Church Oglesby Illinois will speak next Sunday at eleven. Central West Association of Congregational Churches held annual meeting at Union Church with sermons by ministers from Galesburg Edelstein Peoria Ontario Chillicothe and speakers including Miss Woodberry Ellis Island missionary. Valentine Banquet followed lunch and evening program featured songs and readings about love with Dr Gammon and Rev Young.
