Gerry Camp celebrated her sixth birthday on February 12 with a party at the William Archbald home attended by ten schoolmates. Music and games led to a fruit salad, cookies, candy, and a decorated cake. Gifts followed as Marilyn Tucker and others enjoyed the bash with teachers and relatives.
Mrs Mary Comingore arrived from Monmouth on Monday to spend a few days with her mother Mrs Elizabeth Marvin.
Mr and Mrs Frank Kyle and daughter of Peoria hosted Mrs and Mrs Claude Kyle of Eden and Mr and Mrs Albert Megan with children for dinner and supper Sunday. The young people attended GBahow in Peoria.
Millbrook Grange sponsors an attendance contest for the February 27 meeting with Mra Coapman and Mrs Everett Bitmer as captains in charge. The Grange will serve lunch Friday at the Caffcy sale.

The Peoria County Farm Adviser I. P F Green and local high school vocational agriculture departments organize six meetings from February 20 to March 1 to discuss Agricultural Economics Outlook and topics including fertilisers, insect hazards, legume timing for hay, and pork goals. Meetings will be at Princeville, Ginsford, Dunlap, Chillicothe, Elmwood, and Beinfeld high schools, starting at 3 pm each evening.
The last game of the season is set for Saturday at Glasfory with BHS hosting. This will be the final appearance of two graduating seniors, likely drawing a large crowd. The team also plays at Glasfory Friday night.
Local farmers challenge town business men to a game at the high school gym on Wednesday February 21 at 8 o clock. Participants must be out of school at least 12 years. Between quarters boxers will warm up. Proceeds fund renting and a speaker for a pot luck supper February 7. Everyone invited to attend with supper.

The Laura home bureau sponsors a Stanley Brush demonstration at Mrs Olive Brown’s home in Laura on a February afternoon. All ladies interested in these products are invited. Refreshments will be served.
A gathering at Virginia Fachler s home brought together wives of servicemen to organize a wives club. The evening included a brief meeting and dancing followed by lunch featuring chicken salad hot rolls graham cracker pie and cocoa in red white and blue decor. Sgt Everett Lyons and Mrs Holland Learned called from Trivoli and Patterson Field, Ohio. Horace Eldert’s funeral was at Farmington Friday. The Peoria County Cornell American Legion holds its regular meeting at the Peoria Post on Tuesday night February 20. Brimfield Post will be hosted at this meeting. Commander Pacey arranged a good program and asks all sergeants to attend. Refreshments to be served after the meeting.

Wana watched Inde pendent play on home floor Thursday night as Commercial Solvents provided a tough test. The Proctor League in Peoria this winter has kept the team with a solid record, a close score of 3140974 noted, with Benniett guiding and Brimfield’s line featuring Don Corner Raymond Blandy.
A Saturday evening Feb 3 group surprised Katy Christian Io for her 18th birthday. After Pete recovered, Crazy Ronco was played, Cathy Edwards and Gerald Claskey posted high scores while Phyllia Reichar had the low in a night of card games and singing. A latch was served and many friends sent best wishes and gifts.
Leila Ann Maher and Dean Warren Miles were wed at seven PM on Wednesday February 7 in Peoria officiated by Reverend E W Young. Attendants were Mabel Maher and Donald Maher. The bride, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Chase Maher, wore beige with brown accessories and red rose corsage. The groom, youngest son of Mrs Geo L Niles of Elmwood, wore brown. best man and bridesmaid wore brown and green outfits with red corsages. The couple will reside with the groom's mother.
Martin McDonough writes from the Western Front in January 1945 describing quiet conditions, warm weather, and rain in New Guinea, and recalling Christmas Mass at a cathedral with four priests. He thanks Mildred for letters and packages, notes basketball trophies, and hopes the war ends with everyone home next year.
The Elmwood American Legion Auxiliary plans an Americanism program at the Congregational church in Bo'clock on Tuesday evening February 27. A Camp Ellis chaplain will speak, music is planned, and Lt. Bob Korth’s prisoner of war status will be honored with the air medal presentation by air corps representatives. Public invited.

Word has come of the death of Mrs George Stride Scride at her home in Sioux Falls South Dakota. She had been an invalid for many years. Her husband survives her along with a nephew of the late Charles Bayes and a person who has many contacts in the locality where he is well known through frequent visits.
