J E Church reports broad success of Go to Church Sunday in Brimfield with increased attendance and warm receptions as ministers visited homes. The piece urges ongoing church participation, notes the value of communal worship, and invites all residents to attend every Sabbath.
Elizabeth Ann Hockenberry born 1820 in New Jersey. married Jacob B. Slocum in 1847. She lived in Brimfield 18 years with daughters Laura and Frances, died Feb 8 1914 at 84. Survived by three sons, four daughters, twenty grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral at Baptist church Feb 5 conducted by Rev H F Jones and Rev R Pace.
Misa Elizabeth Pacey and Al bert J. Hasson of Bloomington were united in marriage in Bloomington on January 29. They will make Bloomington their home.
Gerald and Lysle Smith have been quite sick the past week but are slowly improving. Miss Ida Nickolla was called home from the store Friday and Saturday as her sister Miss Nelle was quite sick. Mr James Bogess, spending the winter in Florida, reports delightful climate and intends to stay in the south until warmer weather arrives.
