Brimfield Switches to Dial Telephones Next Week

Timets Commercial Telephone Company announces Brimfield will begin dialing on Wednesday after 9:00 a.m. February 15. Dial switching equipment is installed and telephones placed in homes and offices. A new directory and instructional pamphlet will be distributed, and a Dial Comes to Town film will run at the high school. Vale's Market will handle telephone bill payments under an agreement with Francis L Vale.

Mrs Cecil celebrated her 83rd birthday with a family gathering at Mrs Mimer Rigabee’s home in Downers Grove. Attendees included son Roy and wife with children Harold and Keith. Edith Marie and Andrew with spouses. Patricia Nancy Nadne and Jim from Moline. and other Rigabee relatives. Mrs Cecil had been ill since November but attended, though Mrs Harold Cecil and her daughter stayed home due to Sandra’s illness.

Anniversaries Marked With Dinner For Three Couples

Monday February 6 marked wedding anniversaries for Fred Fussner and his wife after 43 years of marriage, Edward Fussner and his wife from Touon 18 years, and Leo Scheikopf and Yra Scheikopf 13 years. A turkey dinner at the Scheikopf home celebrated the event with a large ceremonial cake featuring a miniature bride.

Funeral services for Russell I Bragg held in Brimfield

Russell I Bragg, born May 8, 1899 in Brimfield, died Jan 31 while helping unload gravel for Brimfield Division of the County Highway Department. His funeral at the Johnson Funeral Home featured Masonic rites, a hymn by Rudolph Savage, and burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Survived by Irving Bragg and five brothers and four sisters.

Obituary: Frank Keefer of Oak Hill Dies at 8 7:35 AM

Frank Keefer eighty eight died Friday at 7 35 am at the home of Charles in Oak Hill. He was born August 4 1869 in Jubilee township and married Gins Dawson in 1897, who died in 1925. Survived by two sons Glen Edwards and Charles Oak Hill two brothers Fred Toulon Ralph Brimfield five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He farmed Peoria county all his life.
