Sign up meetings for the 1934 corn hog program were scheduled at multiple centers. Teams of four or five men will assist signers from 8 a.m. to complete applications. Meetings set for February 15 at Laura Grange Hall and Orange Grange Hall per schedule.

Guests included George La Follett and others from Brimfield Maqnon Knoxville Galesburg Joy Aledo and nearby towns. George La Follett announced his candidacy for road commissioner subject to the Republican caucus.

Rev W Harvey Young officiated. They will reside at 160 Duffield Avenue after a brief wedding trip. The bride, a Galesburg High School graduate, trained as a nurse at several schools and has been a private nurse. The groom, a Wright Allensworth service manager, is a Gilesburg High School graduate. Grandmother Mrs John Abrahamson of Altona attended.
French Grove B L Oakes from Peoria and Alta called Tuesday. John Paul Shaffer visited Knox college over the weekend. Mrs Adams visited her daughter Mrs A R Moore and family last Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Uarry Reed helped with butchering at Jackson Reeds Saturday. Mr and Mrs W M Carter and Margaretta travel to St Petersburg. Kellogg and Oakes joined Van Kuntz and Paul Noland to All Men's Church Club in Williamsfield for annual missionary society meeting Friday Feb 15 at Amy Moore’s home. The Carters drove to New London Iowa Friday and brought Mrs Carters mother Mrs Herron for a visit. Neighborhood sick list grows: Earth Carter, Mrs H L Beer, Dorothy Clesson, Verne Shafer, Elizabeth Oakes. Dr Harold F Oakes of Camp Miner al Lake Marengo Wisconsin on two weeks leave visiting home folks this week and next in Chicago at Gook Co hospital.

Knox College in Galesburg Illinois marks 93 years since its charter in 1837 with Founders Day events on February 15. A dinner at Seymour Hall will feature Dr C Boucher of the University of Chicago as keynote speaker. Alumni travel from nearby areas to attend, with reservations urged. Notables from the Brimfield area include William B Cornewell Clinton L Day John Dungan Lester J Kingdon Ethel Memler Berniena Memler Alma Mulvaney Marie Nichols Gelen Schetkopf. Earle Collins and wife with Mr and Mrs Clarence Cuen and Carl join Earle Miles family as Sunday guests.
Interest runs high for The Library Association's Show A Night in Hollywood presented Friday at 8 15 p m in the Community Building. Over fifty locals participate with rehearsals nightly including Rudolph Savage Verne Culbertson Gerald Moon Russell Moon Rev R W Newell Supt Nichols Ellis Tucker and many more. Tickets available at the door. doors open at 8 15 and the show begins promptly.
The Brimfield fire department will hold a special meeting Monday night February 11. J S Garker serves as secretary.
Evangelene Lovett daughter of Mrs R L Lovett of Chevy Chase Maryland and the late Judge Lovett married John Gustus of Detroit at 4 pm Tuesday in the Chevy Chase home of her brother Eliot Lovett. The couple who left Peoria six years ago for the east coast plan to Detroit for their home. Mrs Gustus is a Bradley and Radcliffe graduate with dramatic stage work and has led Central Manhattan Christian Science reading rooms. Gustus has been a Christian Science reader and practitioner in Detroit after graduating from the University of Michigan.
Mrs Ida Reinhart expresses gratitude to friends who sent cards letters and flowers during her hospital stay appreciating their kindness and support.
