Snow Storm Strands Traffic and Schools in Brimfield
A northeast gale dumped about eight inches of snow, creating deep drifts and tying up traffic from Brimfield to Peoria. Snow plows struggled near the brick schoolhouse and most side roads remained blocked. Schools closed for the day. By Monday dawn the storm eased to rain with a brief lightning display. Temperatures stayed above zero with ongoing slippery travel as rain moved in.
