Ben Butler had claimed possession of the town's smallest mule, but Harlan Pemble now owns the new tiny long-eared hybrid. The note appears among a string of commodity prices and local notices dated December 13, 1888.
Millbrook Grange held its Christmas party on Dec. a4 with a business meeting followed by readings and music. Mrs George Martzlut and helpers staged a program including Christmas Memories, readings, piano music, and a candlelight service. Santa Claus distributed apples and homemade candy while gifts were exchanged around a decorated tree for a large crowd.
Local page announces Santa Claus will appear in Brimfield shortly after 1 330 p m on Christmas Eve. The American Legion is coordinating the event with a Busy name and a feature picture for the Kidney plan to draw crowds to town Friday evening.
Four programs will be presented by the children of the Lutheran Church Thursday evening at 7 30. The public is invited to attend and enjoy the program.
Poe Peoria County Rural Youth will hold a formal Holiday Ball at the Hub Ball Room in Edeldtemn Wednesday evening December 29 from 9 to 12. The event invites attendance by local youths and community members to celebrate the season.

Walter J Clark, age 40, died Saturday at Methodist hospital Peoria after a brief illness. He was born March 13, 1905, son of Lewis H and Carrie Blundy Clark, lived on a farm south of Armfield, and managed it since his father retired. He married Altice Miles in 1925. survived by wife, two sons Dale and Willard, daughter Harriet, parents, sister Pearl Wilson of Canton, and several relatives. Funeral was Tuesday at Clark Memorial Home Elmwood with burial in Brimfield Cemetery. Burial rites conducted by Elmwood lodge and officiated by Reverend Charles Harper. Pallbearers listed as Kenneth Hamilton, Robert Watson, Arthur Sollenberger, Ross Porter, Lee McGoy, and Carlos Howard.
The Clark family expresses heartfelt thanks for the kindness received from friends and neighbors during their bereavement. They will always be remembered by Mr. Walter Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Clark, Willard and Harriett Clark, and Mr. and Mrs. Clark, Mrs. Pearl Wilson.
The Peoria woman Elizabeth Carroll Faneval died at home after 18 years of service to Misa Elizabeth E Carroll. The funeral mass officiated by Rev Murray V. Mass was held at St. Marys Cathedral with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Born in Brimfield, she was daughter of Tomas and Ellen McManus Carroll and survived by brother Frank Carroll of Atkinson and numerous nieces and nephews.
