Obituary of Geo N Arnold from Elmwood era
Geo N Arnold born January 31 1855 in Brimfield township Peoria county Illinois moved with family near Elmwood as a youth. He worked as a brakeman in the east studied at Abingdon Hed ding college married Emma J Melville in 1876 had a son S N Arnold later ran a grain business in Elmwood retired after five years then a shop with tools aiding automobile owners. He died December 2 1914 after a paralytic stroke December 9 1913 funeral held December 5 at home with Rev B George and O I Truitt interment Elmwood cemetery. Survived by wife son and sister Nellie Melville plus many relatives and friends.

Mrs L Grady Dies After Long Illness
Mrs L Grady died Sunday morning at the family home after a long illness. Though an invalid for many years, her death came suddenly, shocking the family and friends. The funeral was held yesterday at the M E church, where she was a faithful member and regular attendant as health allowed. The community will regret her passing and a fuller life sketch will appear in the next issue.
