The corner stone of the new Lutheran church was laid Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. A large crowd attended the ceremony at the church and later at the Community Building where Rev. A. H. Schleef of Peoria preached. Completion is hoped for soon with good weather.
Neva Lyon Guyer and E S Ashbaugh wed at the home of Mrs. G C Guyer in Peoria with Rev. J Merle Stevens officiating. The couple, both of Dunlap, plan to live on a farm near Dunlap after a reception at Block & Kuhl's.
The W F M S meets with Mrs H O Cady Thursday at 2 pm with a prayer meeting that evening at 7 o'clock followed by choir practice. E L Cabinet led last Sunday's devotion and urged more cabinet involvement to aid young leaders. Christmas plans are underway and readers are urged to consult last week's paper for committees and roles. Rev Ruins berger spoke on Evangelism and Rev J M Crapp preached to the youth. Yates City notes recall longstanding friendships at the group meeting.
In 1918 seals were limited to Red Cross members. now sales support the National Tuberculosis Association. Peoria County Tuberculosis Society relies on seal proceeds with 77 percent aiding Peoria, while outside funds fund work outside the county. Community nurse Miss Elliott operates entirely outside Peoria.
