Sgt Robert Purcell son of Merlin Purcell and the late Edith Rook Purcell will be heard in a broad cast on WMBD from 6 35 to 6 46 tonight. A Brimfield high school graduate now stationed in Italy Purcell made the record there which is to be broadcast on Pearl Harbor anniversary.
Zion Episcopal Church sold three memorial windows at 159 dollars each. With six windows total, three remain. Existing memorials honor Bishop Chase Bs L G Bourland an early St. Paul's vestryman in Peoria and Elizabeth Radley Lutby daughter of William Radley born near Rabin's Nest in Jubilee.

The grade school team beat the freshmen 17 to 12 and will travel to Bartonville Friday for an opening game at Tecauere. On December 5 they face Chillicothe in an afternoon contest. A fundraising scrap paper move yielded $515 to support lower grades while a new safety item was acquired with proceeds. Joyce Gilroy departs for Plorave live this week. best wishes are extended.

B F Harper dies at Los Angeles on Monday afternoon at 2 o clock. Word came to his daughter Mrs Clara Claypool, who is ill and confined to bed. Harper had served as mayor of Brimfield in the past.

Residents and relatives gathered at Laura church last Saturday for Mrs Robert Carter’s memorial with Mrs Kelloge visiting Chicago and Wheaton for relatives and the United Duroc Record Association annual meeting. The day included a birthday anniversary for Mrs Blundy, an Improvement Society session, and a Friday night program planning for the French Grove show on December 28. Robah Kellogpe spoke on hospital work, with a social hour and refreshments, as donations to the Kemmerer Orphanage reaching $1115.
Mrs Emma Virginia Reed Carter longtime resident died November 30 1944 at Elim Haven aged 76. She joined French Grove Presbyterian then Methodist church, married Robert Carter and had two children. She lived on the Carter farm most of her life, later retiring to Laura and then Elmwood.
Reverend John Magill presided at Lakeview Presbyterian Church in Chicago where Miss Jeanne Paliton formerly of Cedar Rapids wed Levi Pallister son of Mr and Mrs Sam Pallister of Winfield Iowa. The couple will live at 3618 Fremont Street Chicago until returning to Cedar Rapids.
Mrs Charlotte Ashman died after a day of hospitalization and was buried at Brimfield cemetery following services at Westminster Presbyterian Church Peoria. She was a civic leader, chairing the City Planning Commission and active in the League of Women Voters and Women’s Civic Federation. Survived by husband Dr George C Ashman son and two grandsons.
Mrs Carter, long frail, passed after years of illness leaving husband, a daughter, Harold Gelvin, Reed N Carter, and two brothers Lester H Reed and Alexander T Reed of Peoria as survivors. She was predeceased by parents, a grandchild Dor Carter, and three sisters and three brothers. Expressions of thanks from R P Carter and Mr and Mrs Barold Gelvin and Mr and Mrs Reed Carter.
