Brimfield Socials and Thanksgiving Gatherings

Mrs. Cliff Blundy hosted the 500 club while Edna Holmes spent Thanksgiving in Chicago. Many locals visited relatives or hosted guests during the holiday, with dinners at Kellatier and Capron homes. Community activities included rebuilding bowling alleys after last spring’s flood and a farewell party at Shane schoolhouse. The Ketlatads plan retirement and move from the area.

A late November notes many visits and family dinners. Dorothy Clesson and Melva Clesson with Jamie traveled to Peoria for several days while others visited relatives in Jackson Reeds and Brimfield. Neva Riel plans a Friday December 8 fancy work sale at her home while many relatives and friends from Grenville, Elmwood, Champaign, Nashville, and surrounding towns visited kin in Galesburg, Peoria, Niota, and Jacksonville. George Fussner to Be Buried Saturday

George Fussner died at his Jubilee township home from pneumonia. Funeral services will be held at St Joseph's Church on Saturday at ten in the morning, with burial at Kickapoo cemetery.

Oak Hill Opal Shane of Peoria spent the weekend with her parents. Harold Nixon of Macomb State Teachers College was home for the holidays. Kate Mclnotyre traveled to Kansas for a weeks visit with her brother James and wife. Lester Daily and Miss Vera May quietly married in Peoria Saturday. Several families and couples shared Thanksgiving at different homes in Peoria and nearby towns. A group including Mra Antrim and Mrs. Wilkinson donated baskets of food to the sick and needy, including Charles McClintock who is bedbound and Lige Black, an elderly resident.

Peoria Library Plans Shelf Expansion and Services

The Peoria Public Library hopes to add about thirty books to its shelves this Saturday and continue the service through winter. A current magazine service is planned and patrons are urged to use the offerings. Contributors include Rudolph Savage J E Welsh Dean Johnson Melvin McCoy E V Champion Luella Prentice Colgan Mrs Joe Kelstadt and Mrs James S Harker. Library hours are Wednesdays 2:30 to 4:30 and Saturdays 2 to 4. A quilt donation was disposed of last week. The women of the library committee are to meet at Mrs R B Roberta’s home Friday at 7:30.
