Charles R. Deming born January 31 1852 in Barlow Ohio died November 14 1913 at age 61 after pastoral life as farmer and carpenter. Survived by wife Jeanie Gillen Deming and children Arthur Charles May, funeral in Broken Bow with pastor Rev Fraser remarks on integrity and helpfulness.

Robert O Backus born in Harbor Creek Pennsylvania June 15 1846 died at home in Brimfield November 27 1913. He left a wife mother and three sisters and was a Methodist Church member in Omaha Nebraska. He married Mattie B Hamilton October 30 1899 after living in Jo Daviess County Illinois then Brimfield where he resided until death. He served in Captain Reuben Bakers Company F 17th Regiment.
