Bandits Rob Laura State Bank
Four bandits robbed the Laura State Bank just before noon on a Wednesday, taking about 1600 dollars. Three men entered while a fourth waited in a blue De Soto. Elliott and Barrett were ordered to lie on the floor as guns were used, then the robbers fled with reachable cash. Frank Riel fired at the getaway car as it passed the garage, drawing a traceable mark. No injuries reported, unknown if anyone was bitten.

Mrs Zink Rites Held in Mt Pleasant Iowa
Funeral services for Samantha Whetzel Zink of Mt Pleasant Iowa were conducted at her residence on East Washington Street by Rev R V Pike. She was born May 20 1851 in Wheeling West Virginia and died August 22 in Mt Pleasant. She married William A Zink February 10 1875 and left eight children, ten grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Burial followed beside her husband in Elmwood Cemetery with a short chapel service.
