4-H Club Plans Springfield Trip
35 members of the Laura Winners 4-H club met Monday evening August 9 at leader W. W Jones home. They discussed State Fair trips and the County 4-H show at Laura September 1 and 2. A bus trip to the State Fair leaves Laura at 6 AM Saturday August 14 with a stop in Brimnelad. Merle McKown and wife are chaperones. Five members showing calves depart Friday. Committees for the Laura Homecoming float and 2nd stand were named. Refreshments were served.

Denala Hayes Describes Music Camp at Interlocken
Denala Hayes portrays Interlocken Music Camp on Lake Wah-be ka-netta near Grand Traverse Bay. About 450 male youths travel to the site hosting rustic pine buildings, a grand stage, a library, hotel, and practice rooms. Directors include Joseph E. Moddy and Thaddeus P. Gidding. Dr S R Quigley a longtime Peoria optician died Friday in Billings Montana at age 90. Funeral services were held Monday in Tiskilwa with burial in the Tiskilwa cemetery. He had lived in Montana since retirement several years ago.

French Grove Residents Share Harvest Tales
French Grove residents attended the Knoxville fair and hosted visitors including Bobby Mills at the Wilbur Hasselbacher home.
