The Brimbrook driving park meet drew a large crowd as Harry Fisher’s pacing horse Billy failed to pace a mile in 3:15. The mile paced in 3:52, not reaching the expected 3:16. Unofficial census totals list Brimfield and nearby areas with varied farm yields and livestock entries across several dates.
The Mthocist Youth Fellowship sponsors an ice cream social at Laura Church this Friday evening with cake pie coffee and pop. All roads lead to Laura Church for the event.
Richard Matton, only son of Mr and Mrs Frank Mutton, has remained in Stuttgart Germany for a year as of last April while serving with the U S S Airborne Division. He is listed as a member of the division stationed abroad.

Rev and Mrs Herbert N Blakeway longtime Brimfield residents observe their fortieth wedding anniversary on August 11 at their Chicago home with a family gathering. Three of six children remain living Arthur Ada and Else with spouses in Chicago Brimfield ties linger as many Montana memories are recalled.
Mr and Mrs Stanley Soper and Ovid of St. Petersburg Florida have been visiting friends there this week. Jace moved north ahead of the family and will rejoin them later.

French Grove and Chicago guests visited Hubert Oakes and Kellogg Cove as William Carter earned a grand champion ribbon for a heifer at the Lafayette fair. Guests included Mrs Prorence Reed, Mr and Mrs D E Kemp, Mrs Laws, Mrs Chester, Miss Effie Martin, Mrs Tucker, Mrs McNew, Mrs Maude Carter, and others from Modimouth Princeville Harlan and Washington area.
Miss Mary Elizabeth Schaub daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Schaub of Kickapoo announced her engagement to Roland Wasselbacher youngest son of Mr and Mrs David Hanselbacher. No definite wedding date has been set.
East Peoria pitcher Jim Kazense signs with the Chicago White Sox organization and will join the Madisonville Class D City League in spring for his final high school season. Kazense hit .369 in his recent season, showcasing strong hitting and pitching promise.
Elmwood welcomed a new modern fire truck delivered Wednesday financed by popular subscription. The purchase follows extensive effort by residents who organized to replace the old equipment and boost town safety.
The Board of Education of School District No 309 Peoria County announces the tentative budget and appropriation for the fiscal year beginning July 1 1950. The document is available for public inspection at Kenneth Hamilton's venue after 1:00 PM on July 28 1950. A Methodist Church picnic sponsored by the Young Adult Fellowship will be held Sunday August 13 at Glen Oak Park. All church connections are invited with guests welcome. Those without transport may call the parsonage for arrangements. The group departs after the morning service and will include games and prizes for people of all ages.
The Brimfield school faculty for the coming year includes Mr Laws German moving to junior high, Miss Gloria German teaching third grade, Mr Loren Dittus from Mt. Pulaski handling social studies and coaching, Mr Ditton a Western State graduate and athlete, and Mr Roy Lauterdale from Chillicothe teaching music. Grade-school registration for first graders and transfers is set for Friday August 8, with morning and afternoon sessions. State law requires physical exams for all first fifth and ninth graders before school begins. students previously examined at the grade school this spring need no further exams.
