Grade School News From the 4th Grade Bulletin

The first grade starts bird study with Barry Corney presenting a tea bird picture and Peggy Johnson a newt drawing with robin eyes. Eight pupils were absent last week due to illness. second and other grades report small class sizes and several students returning from mumps. The seventh and sixth grades study Africa divisions while planning field events. a chorus trip to Alta and a parent concert are noted.

McKinney Green Remoancement Wedding Reported in Georgia

Miss Nedra McKinney younger daughter of Mr and Mrs J McKinney of Brimfield married V O reen on Pedday March 26 in Valdosta Georgia. The couple now reside in Palmstone Florida where both work. The groom served four years in the military.

Jubilee To Vote on Road Bonds Soon

Commissioner Edward Flynn and town officials survey township roads and bridges finding extensive needed grading resurfacing and repairs due to increased traffic. A special election is set for April 7 to authorize a 25 000 road bond funding the repairs at Jubilee Town Hall.

A fragmented OCR of local election returns shows Brooks with 185 votes for U S Senate and Baber 39. Gov Green tops the ticket with 7231, Strattee 902, Garrett 20h for treasurer. district results show Velde and Senriver leading, with Velde winning the district. County offices list Sweeney 131, Keeley 183, Weeds 181, Kennedy 47, Gerber 39. Thurman 1, O Connor 67, Hell 31, Raueb 8, Leiter 19. O Connor county winner. Travis reelected precinct committeeman with 196 votes. Willard Weidner 28 write-in.

Mr Cecil Miller and Mrs Mary Miller visited the Malte home Sunday. The Missionary Feast at Methediet Geurea Thursday afternoon drew Laura and nearby communities. An Africa talk by Mrs Weight was well received.

French Grove Residents Share Hospital Return and Fund Drive

Mrs Lee Sticke returned home from the hospital late last week as Mra Earth Welles and Bobbie visited Friday with Mrs Clyde Carter and Tenily. The Millbrook fund totaled 336 28 with further contributions expected. Mr and Mrs J D Rovelie of Galesburg visit daughter Mrs Dick Armstrong and 22d family. Auxiliary Notes and Charity Meeting Details

The Lerien Annuary announces its April regular meeting with an Auxiliary sewing lag and pot luck at 10 a.m. and a business session at 1 p.m. Aunt Manda’s discarded hose and hand work will be collected for home projects. Dorothy Heinz chairs the Child Welfare program focusing on basic needs for children including love security growth and health. The Auxiliary sponsors 25 children, largely orphans from St Die France, with ongoing wartime relief efforts.

Brimfield High School Spearheads New Yearbook Edition

The 1948 BHS Spectator completes a student driven yearbook using phonetic printing processes. The Genier Class dedicated many hours but kept up with regular classes. Students produced the entire product, including photos from their own camera, gaining experience and pride in the project.

Public Party Aids All State Fund Drive

The Auxiliary hosts a Saturday night event on April 12 at 8 o'clock featuring 20 games with 50 cent stakes. Proceeds will fund sending a girl to All State while spring flowers Crocus, tulips, and jonquils begin to bloom nearby.

Edith M Whittaker daughter of Mr and Mrs Roy Whittaker married Milton H Wagner of Washington in a small ring ceremony at the bride’s home on Saturday April tenth at seven. Rev W B Wright officiated with immediate relatives present. Vera Whittaker, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor and Wagner, the groom, was best man. After Army service Wagner worked at the Caterpillar factory and the Wagner family lived in Peoria for several years. They will reside at Washington after a brief wedding trip.

Mrs Rita Cornwell Funeral Rites Held in Princeville

Mrs Rita L Cornwell died in March at 111 and funeral services were held at 3 30 p m Friday at Tretheway Funeral Home Princeville with burial at Princeville cemetery. Pallbearers included Ralph Getling Pilliam Gelling Frank Clark James Melinee and Howard Cain. Survivors include two daughters Mrs Pierc Candres Nebr Miss A Bennett Oak Park and brother James Beant. The family thanks friends for kindnesses and cards during her illness.
