At Brimfield Fire Go last monday night plans were made for a Fourth of July celebration in the school park. The fire company, famed for past picnics and fireworks displays, proposes an old fashioned country picnic honoring local veterans. A new honor roll is hoped to be ready for dedication on July Fourth, with the Fire Co seeking community help to ensure a successful event.

Tucker Thomas Nuptials In Peoria At First Methodist

Peoria County Council postpones its meeting to Tuesday April 23 at the American Legion Home Peoria. A 45 piece Peoria Fest band performs 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the luncheon are seventy five cents.

Casper G Strieder Funeral Held at Lutheran Church
Funeral services for Casper G Strieder a respected community member were held Sunday at the Lutheran church with Reverend Henry Traub officiating. Burial followed in the Lutheran cemetery. pallbearers included Charles Erena George Reents William Archibald George Wyman Thomas Pacey and Floryan Mlingert. Strieder born June 28 1863 near Jefferson Barracks was married to Harriet Spears Jan 22 1889 and survived by his wife four daughters twelve grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He served as treasurer for 12 years and remained faithful to his church until ill health forced resignation in 1944. His faith in Jesus provided comfort to the end.
