Assessors to Proceed Like 1937 For Township Valuations
Deputy County Treasurer Robert Manning ordered township assessors to use last year’s procedures for 1937 assessments. At the courthouse they received supplies and instructions. Automobiles trucks and buses will be valued at 50 percent of value per the state tax manual. Grain and hogs at 50 percent of April 1 market value. Sheep and goats at 3 percent per head. Other articles at 50 percent. Books to be returned in late May.

Brimfield Band Rated In Second Division at Peoria Meet
About 1500 youthful musicians from 26 schools took part in the band meet at Central High School Peoria. Brimfield placed in the second division with Knoxville Elmwood Dunlap Metro Virginia and Athena after a close C school grouping. First division honors went to Eureka Princeville Carthage Waverly and Petersburg. First division bands may go to the State finals at Champaign April 22 to 24. Brimfield has Joe Blundy, eligible to play at Champaign, who drew a strong report from district judges and may impress the crowd with his baritone.

Traffic Crash injures six near Mr Fairy Carter corner
Six people were hurt when two cars collided at the gravel road crossing of 17 S Route 150. Howard Jacques Jr of Elmwood High School and Alien Titzen of Waterloo led the wrecked vehicles. Victims were taken to Peoria hospitals with non serious injuries.
