Yesterday at noon William son of Wash Simons near Kickapoo bridge was thrown from a wagon. A wheel crushed his right arm below the elbow leaving a fracture. Dr Corcoran attended. Canada man accused in forceful signing of document
Last Saturday John MefTure of Canada, brother to Mrs Richardson, visited this place and on Monday afternoon, during her husband’s absence, threatened to kill her and forced her to sign a document while grabbing her neck. He sought Mrs R’s registered letter at the post office and learned its contents after, then tried to learn about sealing and signing papers and secured some papers. The attack left Mrs Richardson prostrated but hopes remain for her recovery, while her husband returned from Peoria hours later.
