Regatta commences today in Peoria as residents plan for Brimfield preparations. Visits by locals include Mr Wilaan and families across Elywood Creston and Peoria. George Hayward and others recall ties, while Valentine Jobat secures a workhouse contract. Mayor Warner enjoys civic jokes as Peoria contemplates new liquor sale ordinance with fines sharing.
A singular phenomenon attended Wednesday's shower with copious falls of sulphur in adjacent towns, in places it settled as large lumps forming unusual deposits.
The Democratic county convention will nominate sher iff surveyor and two legislators and choose delegates to the congressional convention in Peoria on August 20. The Red Ribbon Club plans a regular meeting next Wednesday with a fine programme and sixty children will take part in the exercises. The White Ribbon club meets at 7 pm and the hall programs start at 8 pm. A critic complains of a traveling job printer from Sterling and a license fee.
