Mrs Terry received a surprise birthday gathering last Saturday with friends bearing gifts. Attendees included Mrs Hayward, Mrs Eaton, Mrs Dungan, Mrs Vandergrift, Mrs Maxwell, Mrs Steadman, and others who brought items such as a coat, food, towels, an apron, handkerchiefs, an album, a Bible, and a black alpaca dress. The gesture was to celebrate her special day and extend warm wishes.
Tuesday of last week Juin A McCoy ag of Milbrook suffered a severe accident after falling from a hog shed doorway. A 20 penny nail penetrated his foot, dragging rubber and paper fragments into the wound. He endured several sleepless nights but is now improving and expected to recover soon.
While in Peoria we stayed at the Peoria House, a premier hotel on Adams Street near the courthouse. Proprietor Col Dean and staff provide full information and comforts, with a grand dining hall seating 400, frescoed rooms, and a menu tailoring to guests.

Brimfeld residents are invited to a Brimfeld Red Ribbon Club meeting at Cady's Hall next Tuesday evening to elect officers and address business. White Ribbon members will meet at Cady's Hall next Saturday afternoon at 8 o clock to organize. Jeri Williamson sued Brimfield for $10 for services. Magistrate Camp proceedings moved venue to Corcoran and last Wednesday the case was heard. The town was represented by S Starr of Peoria with Williamson acting for himself. the judge ruled no cause for action after a lengthy session.
The trial of Isaac E. Lambert for conspiracy to commit felony by fraudulently conveying land concluded with a not guilty verdict. Morning defense speeches were followed by Kellogg's closing argument. two related indictments were expected to be quashed.
A wet charity fair last Wednesday at Brimfield Hall raised 122.16 for the Brimfield Cemetery Association. Provisions, fancy goods, and auctioned items filled the hall amid rain and mud, with Mr Edward Cady winning a baby doll after luck with a drawing. The event included music, a wreath cake for the president, and reports show total receipts of 128.00 from the sale and festival, with cash donations contributing most of the sum.
