Move for Fire Fighting Equipment
A meeting involving the Board, Union branches, the Forestry Department and the Bushfires Advisory Committee discussed standardising equipment with the Forestry Department. The proposed unit, a 600 gallon tank with a Coventry Climax pump on a four ton truck plus 300 feet of canvas hose, would cost £338 excluding the truck. The move to purchase was debated with objections about funding and practicality, and the motion to arrange purchase was referred to the finance committee for further investigation.
