Death of Bridgetown Pioneer
Ernest C. Lucas died at Bridgetown Hospital after a long Western Australia life. Born in Southampton, he moved with his wife and five children to Bridgetown in 1906. A builder by trade he joined the Bridgetown Co op and served as a store manager and Druidal Lodge secretary for over 30 years. He was 77 or 78. He leaves wife and three daughters Dorothy Win and Gwen. Funeral held after a Methodist Church service led by Rev N Inwood.

Nannup Forestry Worker Burns in Bed Fire Sunday Night
Len Kearney 37 known as Barney and a Forestry Dept employee awoke to a bed fire in his Forrest Street home Nannup. He suffered burns to back and chest, received medical care, and was later admitted to Nannup Hospital with condition reported satisfactory on Tuesday.
