Mayor Fred Atwater received a telegram from Near East Workers urging residents to telegraph the President and the Secretary of Labor to allow 200 immigrants from Constantinople and Asia Minor, now at Ellis Island, to remain in the United States rather than be deported. The group faces deportation as the European quota is exceeded. a telegram from any citizen may pause the action.
The Bridgeport Hydraulic Company versus the City of Bridgeport water right to charge for water used in fighting fires has been postponed once more. The hearing, originally set for Wednesday this week, will not convene until Monday, November 20, per an announcement from City Attorney Cornell’s office.

Paris November 13 Allied Council of ambassadors delivered a sharply worded note to the German embassy demanding immediate apology for Passau Bavaria and other disturbances linked to Germany's military restraint under Versailles. The note's text was not released. In Passau, two Allied officers were assaulted by a mob during a search of a Reichswehr barracks for arms.
Luigi Rieberto of 204 Hallett Street testified that Roberto Attillo Pellicia of 202 Tillett Street shot him one week ago Saturday night. Roberto was bound over to the December term of the Criminal Superior Court on $1,000 bond. Roberto, who fled and hid, was arrested last Monday after a report he was stabbed before firing.
Washington November 13 Supreme Court of the United States upholds the validity of legislation compelling vaccination for school children.
Mrs. Alice I. Smith and John Caldwell sworn in as members elect of the Board of Education in a ceremony in the council chambers with City Clerk Francis P. Dunigan presiding. Mayor Fred Atwater urged they pledge to honest, impartial service for the city’s 150,000 residents as 50 attendees watched. Aldermen sworn in include Howard F. Bryant and Gerald Fitzgerald among others. Andrew Rusnak and Charles C Blackham were absent. Howard Moody and Michiel Tassogna were sworn in. Next council meeting is December 4.

Fair-Nelda High School star Bob Sherwood won three tons of coal in the ticket prize drawing as Bridgeport’s Forty Eleven fell 73 to 0 to Mike Healy's squad. Mrs. Richard F. Howell and Michael F. Healy organized the event.
Lorenzo Valerni of 313 Madison avenue was arraigned in City court on breach of peace, with $2000 bail after a shooting at his home last night left Andrew Didacri of 253 Madison avenue with a bullet wound to the right shoulder. Didacri hospitalized at St. Vincent's. condition not serious. Police say a quiet party turned violent when razor was drawn by Diolastri and a revolver fired three times. two bullets struck Diolatri. Valerni fled three blocks before agreeing to surrender after speaking with a friend. Police continuing investigation.
Alderman Wilbert Sanford, Republican of the Ninth district, was re elected to the Common Council today and filed his campaign expenses totaling $25. The contribution was given to the Republican Town Committee. Sanford names Earl Hayland as political agent. Deeds for east side property to be used for a new Fast Side Middle School were filed with the town clerk. Property fronting 85 feet on Boston Avenue, owned by William H. Lewis, deeded to the city for $16,500. Blaze Suchocki on a warranty deed gives the city 80 feet on Albert Drive for $13,000.

New York reports tenement fires force 100 families from their homes in congested districts. A blaze at 750 Tenth Avenue prompted dramatic rescues as women and children were carried down ladders. A woman named Adeline Brault of 1393 State Street died by her own hand after writing a note saying she wished to die. Police believe despondency from failed love affairs led to the tragedy. Philadelphia November 13 William T. Tilden II, tennis champion, has been treated for a serious infection in his right middle finger. His condition is improving and he will leave the hospital today but must remain at home for several days.

New Brunswick New Jersey November 13 A.P. report describes a clash between witnesses in the Hall Mills murder mystery. Mrs Jane Gibson pig raiser and Mrs Nellie J Russell cow keeper dispute over who saw the murder. Russell admits the confrontation but denies being the aggressor. Russell says she has no ill will toward Gibson. Gibson claims Russell’s affidavit placed her at Gibson’s home during the murder. Russell previously told others her account. Local residents recount differing statements and social tensions surrounding the case.
