Dillon Describes Devastated France After War

E H Dillon, milliner of 1105 Main Street, returns from a six day trip to Paris and six and a half day return, detailing vast ruins from Rheims to Paris. He notes 70,000 residents amid ruins, scarce housing, slow rebuilding, and severe fuel shortages. He recalls shell holes, mined Hill 108, and a panorama titled La Pantheon De la Guerra. He describes currency chaos with francs devalued against the dollar, scrip in daily use, and odd barter in shops. He also explains the millinery buying system through commissioners, and warns on travel red tape including passports and police vises.
