Hammonton New Jersey reports Willis Beach sought as a fugitive after a warrant accuses him of aiding and abetting the murder of Dr William Lilliendahl on Sept 16. Three witnesses saw a blue coupe matching Beach’s car speeding from near the scene. Beach fled his home before troopers arrived and his car was found in a relative’s garage.
New York September 27 By Associated Press A 10 year old boy William Saffarelli was arrested and held in homicide court after Angelina Constanzo seven was found dead. police say the child pressed the trigger of a shotgun during a family feud incident. He claimed the gun discharged accidentally as he was bringing the weapon to Angelina’s bedside. He described waking before dawn, breakfast with his father, then returning with the shotgun to the girl’s room. He fled when adults entered, then cooperated with investigators after long questioning. He remained in custody awaiting further proceedings.
Mayor James J. Walker returns from a European tour to a rousing welcome in New York. He carries fatigue from travel but expresses joy at home, praising the city and noting admiration from people everywhere. Crowds cheer as he arrives aboard the Ile De France and is presented a bouquet.

Richard J. Reynolds twenty one year old president of Reynolds Airways was found in a Grand Inn room in St Louis with a young woman after private detectives traced him from an earlier report of his disappearance. He admitted his identity and said he had not been lost, disputing morning newspaper stories. The search began when a third party offered to produce him for three thousand dollars. The man left for Cairo, Ill., with no confirmed return date. Detectives noted Reynolds had checked out of the Majestic hotel prior to the search.
In Middlesex County September term, Judge Ernest C. Simpson presiding, two Bridgeport men pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the Salvatore Gaetano death. Frank Salvo alias John Falvo and Paolo Ortelli received seven to twelve years and one year respectively. Remaining defendants from New Haven, Deep River, and other towns faced highway robbery, statutory offenses, and liquor law violations with varying sentences, including suspended terms and fines.

Joseph Vuola, 60, of Norwalk, pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree and was sentenced by Judge Leonard J. Nickerson to life in state prison. He killed his wife, Josephine, 40, on May 17 at their Norwalk home in a jealous rage. she died June 8 after being hospitalized. The case involved a first degree indictment later reduced, and Vuola attempted suicide after the crime.
Paris officials report three drivers Narchand Morel and Kirlloff completing a 24 hour run around the Monthlery track setting world marks. They covered 4383851 kilometers at an average 11349 mph and surpassed records for 3000 and 5000 kilometers with speeds of 119087 and 112963 mph respectively.
George Cooper author of Genevieve and over 200 songs died in his sleep at his New York home from heart disease. A friend of Tony Pastor, many tunes began in Pastor's theatre with Lilien Russell guiding the road to popularity. Cooper was eighty nine.

New Haven September 27 The grand jury to convene tomorrow is asked to return a bill of first degree murder against James Pickett of Boston in the death of Harry Smith of Bridgeport who was shot at Hanover Park Meriden on August 4 The coroner also says Pickett is responsible for the shooting of Richard Starks of Ansonia The shooting stemmed from a dispute over a girl and liquor was in evidence.
A Criminal Superior Court jury under Judge Leonard J. Nickerson found Jack P. Le Rell Segall of Brooklyn guilty of statutory arson for allegedly firing the Redluso Rubber Products plant at 1482 Main Street on May 3 to defraud nine insurers. The verdict came in 42 minutes amid testimony that the fire was incendiary. Segall faces sentencing the next morning at 10 o'clock. Mrs. Eva Shaevitz, tied to the case as an accomplice, fainted in court upon learning the verdict and caused a brief disturbance, having fainted previously after testimony.
Adam Lyman of East Granby was tried for wilfully injuring a tobacco crop. A Paris plaster cast of a footprint was offered as evidence but did not convict him. His former housekeeper, Anatocia Davis, testified she did the damage and received a three month sentence.
