Gas tube fumes hospitalize two cats and mouse chase

In Hartford on Talcott Street a gray mouse was caught after a chase when a gas tube pulled by a cat overheated fumes that affected two cats and a boy and girl present. The Rizzos were hospitalized but later released. A policeman found the empty gas valve and the mouse on the floor.

Eight Dead and Forty Injured in Train Crossing Wreck

A Jersey Central engine collided with a Lehigh Valley train at Bethlehem near the crossing, causing eight deaths and about forty injuries. Slayer sought at grave of victim in Milford

Stratford police joined relatives at the Mountain Grove cemetery for the burial of Mya Elizabeth Nichols a Milford restaurant proprietor slain yesterday. Authorities hoped Albert Ferrara the alleged slayer might appear but he did not and remains at large after fleeing east on Main Street with the Tremacell truck. Nichols was brought from Shelton to Brienuett for service then interred at Mountain Grove. An inquest will determine the cause of death with Coroner John J Phen presiding and subpoenas issued for witnesses.
