Six arrested in auto crash liquor raid and drunks

Six men were arrested during a police raid on two saloons at Lexington and Pallet streets. A bartender Harry Hoey was held for liquor law violations. Two Dead and Dozens Wounded in Belfast Rioting

Belfast reports say two people were killed and 36 wounded during rioting with bombs thrown and gunfire from police and military. A girl was hit by stray bullets as crowds fought near Seaford Street. Victims were treated at Victoria and Women's Hospitals. hours earlier a saloon was burned and six wounded.

Policeman Dennis J Sullivan Ends Life In Bridgeport

Dennis J Sullivan a eight year Police Department veteran from Third precinct Bridgeport ended his life by hanging early Sunday morning. Found in a small alley near the Warner Brothers Institute building on Atlantic street by Patrolman Skeene at 2 36. He is survived by wife Lonren H Dykman, one child James, three sisters and two brothers. Funeral planned at 382 Warren street.

Two Killed in Railroad Crash Near Steubenville

Two men died when an eastbound Pennsylvania malt train crashed into the rear of a freight train in the Gould Tunnel six miles west of Steubenville Ohio. Michael Birch, the front engine engineer, was killed along with Oliver Schapp conductor of the freight train.

State Treasurer F K Of C Dies in Torrington at 61

Jean T. Boland, state treasurer of the Knights of Columbus, died at his Torrington home at 61 after recent surgery. He served twenty years as K of C treasurer and once was Burgess of Torronsien borough. He leaves two widows, three daughters, and one son.
