Thomas Arnold, prominent real estate operator and former wool dealer, died at his home at 660 Washington Avenue after a heart attack as he sat on his porch. He was about 40 years old and leaves a large family including two sisters, several siblings, and four children. His death follows a career shift from manufacturing to real estate and allied ventures.

Rear Admiral Robart Griffin, chief of the Bureau of Engineering, announces the retirement of Mead of Nave Engineer after four years of navy service. The department has been briefed that the position is now filled by Captain dK Robin sone.
United States Commissioner Lavery addressed the Twelfth Ward Democratic Women's club urging women to use the franchise in primaries if registered and to vote in November. She charged the current administration with extravagance, citing overcrowded schools and part time schooling as reasons for supporting a Democratic ticket.
