Henry N Baker, national director of disaster relief for the Red Cross, was forced to land near Gordon Alabama due to storm and motor trouble while flying from Memphis to Mobile. Fonk May Start At 5 30 A M Today
Westbury New York September 20 Captain Rena Fonck will attempt a non stop trans Atlantic flight to Paris at 5 30 tomorrow morning. Flight navigator Jaeut Lawrence W Curtin and co pilot Lieutenant Curtin announced the plan after weather reports showed conditions not entirely favorable. They noted a storm of 200 miles along the route may move enough to avoid it, otherwise the route may shift southward. Fonck was not present when the decision was made but was told to wake at 4 30 a m.
