Fire board seeks 110000 for new modern station Milford
Milford Sept 13. The town finance board held its third public hearing on budgets and appropriations for the new fiscal year. The Fire Commission presented a 136000 budget, including 110000 for a new central fire station on New Haven Avenue and grounds improvements. Opposition is expected over preserving the site for historical purposes. Other town offices asked for salary, equipment, and staff increases. A series of automobile accidents Saturday night kept police busy with several arrests for driving under the influence and reckless driving. The Mil ford Grange debated who is the Hick in a lively Friday night discussion, naming a farmer as the example. The Saturday town court docket included several liquor and traffic cases with fines and continuances.
