Bridgeport police and fire units were involved in two auto accidents yesterday. A fire engine operated by Henry Sveltesky struck a curb and a telephone pole at Main and Savey streets, back in service by 1 pm. A patrolwoman driver, E rorman Charles Tampett, crashed into a telephone pole at Connecticut and Seaview avenues while trying to avoid another car, injuring two women and leaving the patrol car badly damaged.

Harry R. Burrows, 36, married, died by gas in his kitchen at 1430 Fairfield Ave last night. His wife found the body after returning home at 9, she said he was in difficulty. Dr. Haberlin and Medical Examiner DeLuca ruled death a personal crisis. Gas line ripped, tubing to mouth, two dogs placed in another room. Neighbors heard a thud. wife acted, gas turned off. A druggist and physician offered aid, funeral arrangements pending. Arthur Brownstein, 22, Hotel Morehouse, was treated at Emergency hospital for foot bruises and glass in his hand after an accident at Catherine and Grand streets.

Danbury reports burglars used tools borrowed from Haworth-Snyder department store at 231 Malin Street to rob its safe of about $2,000, likely Saturday night or Sunday morning. Entry was by a rear window 20 feet above ground. an ion bar was sawed, and thieves left no clues. They took a hand drill from the stock, but used it nowhere in the raid. Lone Bandit Robs Autoists in Meriden
A lone bandit wearing a blue handkerchief as a mask held up three motorists on North Broad Street near the Meriden Berlin line early today. He escaped with 10 dollars and 60 cents. Victims were J.
