Walked From Stamford to Face Court Here
Walter H. Herman, nineteen, of Stamford appeared in City court yesterday 24 hours late on a charge of violating motor ordinances by not staying to the proper side of the white line while passing through Bridgeport. He said he walked from Stamford because he had no money for fare. A motorcycle policeman testified Herman said police would have to come after him in Stamford if they expected him to appear in court. Judge Buckley imposed a fine of five dollars and costs, which he paid after learning he had funds for the carfare.
