Federal agents and city police raided the Hotel Longacre in Manhattan's theater district, arresting 10 and seizing narcotics and liquor paraphernalia. The operation involved 28 internal revenue agents, 12 detectives, and two federal assistants, with witnesses and theatergoers gathering outside as evidence was secured.
High northeast winds and cold water thwart Henry Sullivan of Logwett, Mays, and Walter Patterson of Bedgeport Conc today as they attempted to swim the English Channel. Danbury town records show the clerk suspects a couple deceived him when granting a marriage license to two nonresidents. The man Milton Smith claimed residence in Danbury while the bride Anne Seymour of Bridgeport reportedly met the oath and ceremony requirements elsewhere. The pair left in a car marked for another city.

The case centers on Chicago orders aimed at striking railway shop crafts and unions, with jurisdiction questions under Sherman and Clayton acts.
A six year old boy, Jamies Treynolds Reynolds of 8192 Fairfield Avenue, was struck by a motor vehicle driven by Philip Backett of 14 Lemon Street Buffalo. He dashed from the curb to cross to his home and died of internal injuries and head trauma shortly after. Backett posted a $1,000 bond for his appearance in court.
