New York Sept 7 Gov Cox replying to a woman's question at Devil's Lake North Dakota said he has always voted dry and will not interfere with the Eighteenth Amendment. He stated he would uphold prohibition and would not support repealing or altering it.

A car driven by a speed maniac plowed into a group of school children at South Street and 11th Avenue in New York Today killing two youths named Harold Schuman and Nemes Wylie and injuring at least four others. Police have not identified the driver or car.
Teanette Preidman a 29 year old resident of 39 Highland avenue died suddenly at her home yesterday afternoon after returning from a week in New York City. She had suffered a mild illness for three days but did not seek care. She became unconscious and died before Dr. Owen J. Groark could treat her at Emergency Hospital. Acting Medical Examiner Fitzgerald opened an investigation into the death.
SEW YORK September 7 The nation faces another influenza wave says Health Commissioner Copeland noting epidemics recur for two or three years after a major outbreak. He doubts this winter will be as wide spread or deadly as last year and expects after Christmas the recurrence to begin, with careful watch.
City Attorney William Comley will present Mayor Wilson's nomination for governor at the Republican state convention in Hartford on Thursday. The choice of nominating speaker has stirred debate among supporters, with Mrs. Comley actively supporting women in the party, and Comley expected to hold proxies for Bridgeport delegates despite not being a formal delegate.
