Belfast reports fifty one arrests under the Rusfew law last night as military and police halt suburban roads, stopping all motorists during the curfew period.
In Fairfield Sept 5 Mrs David Perry of 6030 Myrtle Ave East Norwalk suffered back injuries while Alexander Irving sustained severe harm after four autos collided near Post Road Greent Karma. Raymond Greene of 116 Third Ave New York faced reckless driving penalties and fines totaling $64 after a Socialist meeting trip ended in a hit and escape.

Marion Ohio September 5 After a long talk with Senator Harding George W Wickersham former Republican attorney general and league of nations advocate issued a statement saying the Republican nominee would not wholly reject the league but would push revising the covenant and its practical operation He adds the league is interwoven with European fortunes and that objectionable features must be preserved to stabilize peace Wickersham says he favors the league and supports amending the Paris covenant to enable its effective use while noting Harding has yet to issue a formal public stand on acceptance
Boston dispatch reports Franklin D. Roosevelt says Maine faces extreme confusion ahead of September 13 state officer elections as women vote was expanded by the referendum. He notes uncertainty over registration and turnout while predicting women may largely back the Democratic ticket and peace. He cites rumors of Canadian troops in Poland as campaign fodder amid partisan tension.

Steve Gotch of Jerome and Bridgeport avenues Stratfordy and Michael Gulis of 209 Hallett Street were stabbed while talking near Bridgeport. Both were hospitalized in serious but not life threatening condition. Gotch sustained a superficial facial wound and a fractured right thumb. Gulis was stabbed in the thigh. Gotch said he did not know his assailant but believed him to be the man he slapped earlier. The assailant reported the assault to police and fled.
Charles Fowler aged 40 living at 52 Wallace street was stabbed in the neck at 2 30 pm yesterday following a street quarrel with Thomas Jones of 440 Grand Streets Fowler accuses Jones of the stabbing and Jones was arrested on a charge of assault Fowler says he was at Wallace and Grand streets when Jones insulted him and then stabbed him Dr B J Coyle of the emergency staff took him to St Vincent's hospital
Washington reports the seizure of 4.9 million dollars in cash from Chase National Bank to secure tax payments by Kerr Navigation Corp and associates. The money, tied to a 19 thousand share Kerr purchase at 100 dollars each, was paid by America Ship and Commerce Corp. Officials indicate government tax claims exist against Kerr and Clegg, details under investigation.
