Harvey Hubbell Band Scores New Success
The Harvey Hubbel band under Dr Giovanni Conterno gave a popular program at Late Street Siena last evening before an enthusiastic audience. The band opened with the Star Spangled Banner and closed with The Coronation. Repeats and favored pieces included William Tell Overture, Reverie, Dance from Oriental suite, Alarm fantasia, and the Anvil Chorus from Verdi. The twelve anvils in costume punctuated each measure as showers of sparks accompanied the music. Babes in Toyland selections and Le Pere de La Victoria were also performed with acclaim. The city supported the concert band as it achieved artistically through the summer.
