Boy Killed by Car at Seaside Park After Party

Six year old Joseph Vitralla of 255 Catherine street died at St. Vincent's hospital after being run down by Florence G. Ryan of 310 Crown street New Haven in Seaside Park. Ryan held on $1000 bond on manslaughter charges pending coroner’s inquest. Ryan said she drove about four miles an hour through Park avenue entry. boy darted from east side while parents waited across the way. Death due to skull base fracture and lung puncture. Ryan to appear in City court tomorrow. Also injuries from an early morning automobile crash at Barnum Boulevard near the bathing pavilion left Mrs. H Armstrong Jr. injured.

Greenwich Man Dies After Auto Hit on Boston Post Road

Greenwich, Aus. Jr. John Glennen, 63, of Sherwood Place, died in Greenwich hospital from injuries after a car struck him while crossing the Boston Post road just east of the M. Co. Ave. He was struck by Howard C. Daving. Glennen suffered broken legs, a broken wrist, bruises and internal injuries. Daving’s bond set at 6000, posted by Grace Pencyck. A coroner’s inquest is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 30.

Klansmen Held on Murder Count After Riot

Eleven men connected with the Ku Klux Klan were detained at Salina county jail after arrests in Herrin for murder tied to yesterday’s clashes that left six dead and several wounded. A Klan rally near Vuret, seven miles west of Herrin, culminated in deadly violence as clashes with opponents escalated. One witness described being attacked while returning from West Frankfort. shots and rocks were directed at his vehicle.

Destroyers Ordered to Shanghai Amid China War Threats

Three destroyers Cracy Borie and Smith Thompson and the gunboat Sacramento were ordered to Amoy China by Admiral Thomas Washington as a precaution as war threats rise between Chinese military governors. State Park officials tore down signs and a wire fence on Sherwood Island Greens Farms claiming an old highway existed and blocked by private property owners who deny the highway and accuse the state of destroying property. Cooney in Auburn Prison Loses Hand in Accident

Flyers Cross Difficult Lap to Labrador

The Americans led by Lieutenants Hy Smith and Eric Nelson completed their hard North Atlantic leg from Greenland to Labrador.
