A group of over five industrial real estate brokers and press representatives from New York New Jersey and Connecticut toured Eastern Connecticut traveling about 300 miles to inspect potential sites for new factories plants and businesses The two day caravan visited more than twenty towns and cities and toured vacant plants mostly textile The tour was sponsored by the Connecticut State Development commission and regional sponsors including New Haven railroad Central Vermont railway and local chambers of commerce Governor addressed the group and officials described the aim to showcase opportunities in a region hard hit by textile decline The trip included luncheons and dinners with further coverage continued on page twelve
