Four Men Seized in Watch Thefts in Farmington Connecticut
Four New Britain men were arrested after a long investigation by local and state police into the theft of several gross of watches from the Specter Motor Transport Co in Farmington. Camille Raymond Louis H Abascal Henry Lesteric and Paul Ciccarella were booked at New Britain police headquarters. Raymond and Abascal dock hands at the Cer tion company headquarters were charged with theft and held in $1000 bond each. They were taken to Hartford State Police barracks pending further action.

No Concessions Made To Rioters End South Dakota Prison Riot
SIOUX FALLS Oct 12 AP three hundred rioting prisoners at the South Dakota State Penitentiary surrendered after a 23 hour uprising. Warden Jameson said no concessions were given as two guards were returned unharmed and the prisoners returned to their cells. Gov Anderson backed by about 200 armed officers demanded surrender and safety for hostages George Reed and E F Lambertson. District attorney Bielski said second degree kidnapping charges may be filed against inmates. Damage was extensive with beds chairs smashed and mattresses shredded. Lambertson praised his treatment by convicts and noted limited threats during the standoff.
