Crew of Garbage Barge Given Trip to Tampico Mexico
Two crew members from a New York street cleaning barge were taken aboard the steamship Whickett for a seven day trip to Tampico Mexico after the barge broke loose 20 miles southeast of Scotiana Liszat. The tug Artisan towing the barge returned to New York. The Whickett captain radioed a distress signal and said the barge was badly damaged. Rumors say Ruth Bryan Owen may run for the Florida state legislature.

Mrs. Anna Wotkins aged 55 of 105 Brooks street fainted in the Bridgeport Hydraulic company office on Main street at Gilbert last Tuesday afternoon. She was taken to Bridgeport hospital where she died last night of apoplexy.
